Welcome to Clarence

We are pleased to provide you with some information to help you get acquainted with the City of Clarence and to welcome you to our great community. The City website is a great resource, so please feel free to click around and get acquainted.

City Hall is located at 411 Lombard Street and the City Clerk’s hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. & 1:00p.m.-5:00 p.m. The Police Department is also at the same location. Should City Hall be closed or have an change in hours, we typically post to the City’s Facebook page.

Emergency phone number is 911 for Police, Fire or Ambulance. The Cedar County Law Enforcement Center number is 563-886-2121 for all non-emergencies.

City Council meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:15 p.m. at City Hall, 411 Lombard St.

City utility bills are mailed on or before the first day of each month, and payment is due by the 20th of the month. Included on your bill are fees for water, sewer, recycle/solid waste collection and landfill. Residential garbage is picked up on Wednesdays and recycling is picked up every other Tuesday of the month. In case of a holiday or emergency, an alternate day will be announced. The City of Clarence is proud to maintain a beautiful City Park with playground equipment, BSA replica of the Statue of Liberty, four park shelters, an open Lions shelter, basketball court, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, two baseball diamonds, Frisbee Golf course, Walking Trail, and a Splash Pad all in one area. Park shelters may be rented for reunions and other special occasions by contacting City Hall.
