Public notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Clarence, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on June 8, 2026, during the City Council meeting which begins at 6:15 P.M., in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 411 Lombard St, Clarence, Iowa, at which meeting the Council proposes to take action on the adoption of a Clarence Urban Revitalization Plan (“Plan”) for the Clarence Urban Revitalization Area (“Area” or “Revitalization Area”) described therein, under the authority of Iowa Code Chapter 404.
The proposed Revitalization Area to be established by the Plan includes the property described as follows:
- All property within the corporate limits of the City of Clarence, Iowa.
- To the extent allowed by law, any property annexed into the City after the effective date of this Plan shall be considered to have been part of the Area as of the effective date of its annexation to the City.
The Plan, if adopted, will allow property owners to apply for abatement of property taxes on a percentage of actual value added by eligible improvements to property in the Area assessed as residential, commercial, or industrial. Limitations will apply.
Any persons interested may appear at said meeting of the Council and present evidence for or against the adoption of the Plan. The proposed Plan, including a map of the proposed Area, is on file in the office of the City Clerk and available for public inspection or copying during ordinary business hours.
This notice is given by order of the City Council of the City of Clarence, Iowa, pursuant to Section 404.2(3), Code of Iowa.
