The library is your one stop source for all of your informational needs. We have a large selection of books, dvd’s, magazines and newspapers available for the community. In addition to plenty of space, we have a quiet sitting area complete with a fireplace, a small study room is available for one-on-one sessions and the large community room is available for use by groups for social gatherings, programs, and meetings. Computers are available for public use and FREE WiFi is also available.

You can access your account online by clicking the “Search Our Catalog” button to the left. The username is your library card number and the password is the phone number on your account. Once those are entered, click “log in”. Call the library if you have any questions or need assistance!

Services
- Use a Computer
- Computers are available at the library for public use.
- Computer Policy: Computers in the front of the library are reserved for business or school work purposes only. These computers are NOT to be used for video games. The computers in the back activity room may be used for those who would like to play video games or use the computers for recreational purposes. Computers are available on a first come first serve basis. If more than the allotted amount of people would like to play games at a time, a time limit with be enforced. Patrons may sign up for a time slot with the Director. Children should be at least 8 years of age to use the computers.
- Copy, Print and Fax
- Copying, printing and faxing services are available at the library for the public.
- FAXING: A fax machine is available to patrons. The cost is $1.00 for the first page, .50¢ for each additional page.
- PRINTING and PHOTOCOPIES: A black and white printer is available to patrons using the public computers. The cost for a black & white print is 5¢ per page.
- Copying, printing and faxing services are available at the library for the public.
- Interlibrary Loan
- Our library is connected to other libraries throughout the state. If you can’t find an item in this library, ask library staff to help you get it from another library.
- We can borrow books for you from other Iowa libraries if we do not have them. It usually takes several days to receive the titles through the mail. There is no charge for this service.

- Programs
- The library provides drop in crafts almost year round. Families are welcome to drop in anytime to participate in the current activity. Please check our Facebook for the most up to date schedule of activities and events!
- Newspaper Archives
- Thanks to a generous donation from the Friends of the Library and a Community Foundation of Cedar County Grant, the public can now access digital copies of several area newspapers going back decades ago. - Library Card
- All residents of Iowa are entitled to a Clarence Public Library card. When requesting a card, a person must speak with the Director and provide the following information: Full name, current address, e-mail and phone number. A new patron must show some form of identification with a current address. This may be a driver’s license, utility bill, etc. A parent or guardian must provide information for a minor under age 18. There is a limit of 4 items the first time a patron checks out with a higher limit thereafter. The standard borrowing period for books, magazines, and audiobooks is two weeks. DVDs are checked out for seven days. Items not on hold may be renewed. Patrons are responsible for lost or damaged library materials and will be billed for full replacement cost of materials.
